To all the politicians and leaders who claim to represent the Haitian people: today is supposed to be a day of pride, a day to celebrate our identity, our resilience, and the symbol of our unity—our flag. But I cannot find it in my heart to celebrate Haitian Flag Day when our streets are stained with the blood of innocent people, when children live in fear, and families are torn apart by violence and hopelessness. What is a flag without peace? What is pride when our nation is suffering? There is no true celebration when so many are crying, when so many lives are lost, and when justice feels out of reach. This day should remind you, the ones in power, that the flag you honor was built on sacrifice, not just symbolism. It’s time to stop pretending everything is fine and start taking real action. The Haitian people deserve more than speeches and parades—we deserve protection, dignity, and a future. Until then, there is no true Flag Day.🖤💔😭❣️

On my way to work 🖤💔

The bloodshed and suffering that plague the streets take away from the joy and pride typically associated with Flag Day. As citizens reflect on the symbolism of their flag, they are also reminded that it should stand for hope, protection, and dignity—elements that are currently missing for many Haitians. Leaders must realize that addressing these profound issues is essential to restore true celebration in the hearts of the people. The voices raise for change should resonate beyond speeches; they deserve a response that emphasizes action and reform to uplift the nation.
