Replying to @Mona why I chose mini dental implants in the first place part 1☺️ Mini dental implants are just a one piece dental implant that come in a variety of widths & lengths. They are faster & much less invasive. Most people won’t need bone grafts or sinus lift surgery for these. I believe mini implants carry LESS risk if there is a complication than a full sized implant. This is my opinion based on my experiences & what I’ve learned over the last 6 years. Full size implants are more invasive that is a fact. They come w a longer period of recovery before you can fully use your teeth & they are a two piece unit so while they install the larger diameter implant into the jawbone they use a second piece/abutment to attach to the implant but the piece that sticks up is even more narrow than an actual mini implant .. therefore they can also break. But they also can trap bacteria in that microgap/space in the 2 piece standard implants risking a larger area of infection/pain/close to nerves etc. For me personally w a very small lower jaw & not wanting to take a bigger risk I went w minis. If one of them fails they’re easy to remove & replace. Mini implants also keep the bone in tact to prevent bone loss 🥰 These are my opinions based on my experience and what I have learned but I am not a dentist and not trained or qualified to give anyone dental treatment advice.
