NEW!!! Me, Espresso Review

I was so excited to get my hands on the new Me, Espresso perfume by Sabrina Carpenter!

Top Notes:

Espresso Bean, Cappuccino Smell the Taste™️, Cocoa Powder

Middle Notes:

Night Blooming Jasmine, Vanilla Orchid, Biscotti

Bottom Notes:

Caramel Drizzle, Sugared Amber, Whipped Cream

I was slightly disappointed by this smell, but I hope that I come to love it. I was really expecting a stronger espresso scent, but it ended up on the clean floral side for me. I was nervous buying this perfume blindly, as I had heard some controversy that it smelled like grape soda, while others denied it. Upon first spray I was met with pure grape soda. No other way to describe it. But after a few minutes, the soda smell was gone and in its place was a floral sweet perfume. I would say the strongest notes in it are the jasmine and vanilla orchid. I get whiffs of the whipped cream and sugared amber but any coffee scent is almost completely gone by the dry down.

It is a nice perfume on its own, it is far from my favorite but I find that it smells better than Cherry Baby. A good clean scent but disappointing if you were wanting a gourmand.

As for the longevity, like the rest of them, it’s just not there. The strength goes away as it dries down so the projection is weak after it is initially sprayed and you can only smell it on yourself after an hour or so.

... Read moreOkay, so let's dive deeper into the whole 'grape soda' phenomenon with Sabrina Carpenter's Me, Espresso! When I first sprayed it, I was genuinely surprised by that initial fruity, almost bubbly burst. It really did remind me of grape soda for a solid minute or two. I know a lot of people online have talked about this, so if you experience it, you're definitely not alone! But, here's the thing – that phase passes pretty quickly. For me, it evolved into something much softer and more floral-sweet, rather than the rich coffee gourmand I was dreaming of. Speaking of gourmands, many of you might be wondering how Me, Espresso compares to Sabrina's other popular fragrance, Sweet Tooth. From my experience, they're quite different! Sweet Tooth leans much more into a creamy, dessert-like gourmand profile, living up to its name with true sweetness. Me, Espresso, despite its name and the initial coffee notes listed, ultimately settles into a lighter, more airy floral-sweet territory. If you're going into this expecting another intense 'Sweet Tooth' level gourmand, you might be a little surprised, just like I was. It's less about a literal coffee shop vibe and more about a delicate, sweet floral with just a hint of warmth. Let's talk about the presentation too, because Sabrina's perfumes always have such unique packaging! The 'chocolate bar-shaped bottle' is absolutely adorable and totally fits the aesthetic. It comes in a pretty 'light blue perfume box' which looks great on any vanity. Visually, it's a winner, and for a '7.9/10 rating' on presentation alone, I'd say it hits the mark. The price point, around '$60', feels reasonable for a celebrity fragrance with such distinctive packaging, even if the scent itself wasn't exactly what I anticipated. So, who is this perfume actually for? If you love clean, sweet florals with a touch of warmth and don't mind a subtle gourmand undertone rather than an overt one, you might really enjoy Me, Espresso. It's a great everyday scent if you prefer something light and inoffensive. However, if you're a hardcore coffee scent lover or expecting a deep, rich gourmand, this might not be your holy grail. I found it worked well for a light daytime pick-me-up. Regarding longevity, which was a point of concern for me initially, I've found a few tricks to help. Applying it to moisturized skin really makes a difference – a little unscented lotion beforehand can sometimes extend its wear. Also, spraying it on clothing (test first!) can help the scent linger longer than just on skin. While it may not project powerfully for hours, I do enjoy catching those delicate whiffs throughout the day. It's a lovely scent once you adjust your expectations from the name, offering a unique floral-gourmand blend that's quite charming in its own right.
