Healthy me , Happy me
🌿 Hello Lemon8 fam! 🍋
Starting this page to document my weight loss and health journey — a step towards feeling like myself again. Honestly, I don’t like what I’ve become with all the poor food choices and lifestyle that I have conveniently conditioned myself to now, but I’m still proud of myself — especially as a mama to a 9-month-old 💪❤️.
I feel that I had enough of this extra pounds and it’s time to take back my energy, health, and confidence — one meal and one workout at a time.

Recovering from pregnancy and focusing on postpartum health can feel overwhelming, especially when weight loss feels stubborn. For breastfeeding moms, it's important to find weight loss apps specifically designed to support your unique needs—balancing nutrition for both you and your baby. I found that integrating light exercises like brisk walking, a practice supported by numerous studies, helped boost my energy and mood without overexertion. One challenge I faced was understanding why I wasn’t losing weight initially despite my efforts. It turns out that postpartum weight loss can be influenced by many factors including hormonal changes and calorie intake. Apps that track meals offer great insights; for example, knowing how many carbs are in simple snacks like air-popped popcorn helped me make better choices. I also discovered that certain foods like konjac jelly can be helpful due to their low calorie and high fiber content, making them good snacks when trying to lose weight. On the exercise front, postpartum fitness apps and gentle workout classes help moms ease back into activity safely. On my journey, I also learned the benefits of eating balanced meals—such as salads (like the $6.50 salad bowl I enjoyed) that are fresh and nutrient-rich. Sharing recipes with friends and the Lemon8 community provided extra motivation and ideas. Remember, small, consistent steps like replacing fried foods with healthy options and incorporating activities that raise endorphins can lead to lasting changes. If you’re on a similar path, try to stay patient and kind to yourself. Every mom’s body is different, and paying attention to your own progress while using helpful tools can make your postpartum health journey successful and joyful.
