Circle of life
After all these years, it still hurts to say goodbye to good students.
Young teens with big dreams. Chasing the NFL. Chasing the NBL. And you know what, I wish them well. Everyone should chase their dream.
But here’s what I’ve seen with time. No one ever comes back and says, “I regret earning my black belt.” Not one.
What I do hear is this:
“I wish I never quit.”
“I wish I stayed.”
“I could have been a black belt.”
Then comes the line we all know,
“My parents took me out.” And I remind them ;
You left to chase football.
You left to chase basketball.
Life takes us different paths.Some lessons come now.
Some come later.
Martial arts always gives back.
Discipline. Respect. Confidence.
Those never fade. In the end, I’ve learned this. We plant seeds.
God decides when they grow.
To every student past and present. Chase your dream.
But never forget where you started. The door is always open. Let’s go make amazing things happen today. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

For current and former students, the invitation is clear: chase your dreams, but remember the value of where you began. Keep the door open to return, stay connected, and embrace the lifelong lessons martial arts offers. This mindset not only applies to sports but to personal growth, relationships, and challenges throughout life. Ultimately, the "Circle of Life" in this context symbolizes the continuous journey of learning, growing, and remembering the foundations that shaped us.
