Home Bound 🤙🏽
Everything comes to an end and I’m on my way home.
My heart is full, but also heavy.
I miss my family, friends and students . I miss my home. I miss the mat. I specially missed my wife.
This has been the longest I’ve ever been away from Simou and that wasn’t easy for her. Not one bit.
She stayed strong and allowed me to spend time for me to grow spiritually but I know it hurt. I felt it from miles away.
So from my heart, thank you.
To the ones who showed up.
To the ones who gave their time.
To the ones who took her out, made her smile, kept her busy, and made her feel she wasn’t alone🙏🏽
You are special. You didn’t have to but you did. And that to me means more than words can say.
You gave her light on days that felt a little dark. You gave me peace when I was far away.
And to those who didn’t know, now you know. It mattered. It all mattered. I’m touched and you have my gratitude.
I’m coming home now. Ready to hold my people close. Ready to get back on the mat. Ready to see you all and see who’s stepping up for that next test.
Life is short. Love your people. Show up when it counts.
From my heart, thank you🙏🏽.
Let’s go make amazing things happen today. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

Being away from home for an extended period can truly put life into perspective. I remember the first time I spent months away from my family; the distance made me realize how much everyday moments with loved ones are truly priceless. It’s not just about the physical presence but the emotional connection you maintain despite miles apart. I was touched by how those who stepped in to support my spouse helped ease the ache of separation for both of us. It reminded me how important it is to have a strong community around you—friends who offer their time and attention can transform difficult times into bearable ones. Supporting someone you care about when their partner or family members are away is a powerful act of kindness that often goes unnoticed. Getting back "on the mat," as mentioned, resonates deeply with those who dedicate themselves to personal growth, whether through physical activities like martial arts or other disciplined pursuits. Returning home often means more than just seeing family—it means reconnecting with passions and routines that shape your identity. Life’s brevity means showing up authentically for the people who matter most, a lesson I’ve learned the hard way. Each visit, call, or simple gesture creates a tapestry of memories and support that fortifies relationships across the distances. For anyone currently away from home or loved ones, remember to lean on your support network and cherish the moments when you reunite. Both the challenges of separation and the joy of return teach us the value of resilience, gratitude, and love. Embrace the journey, and when you come home, hold your people close and step forward with renewed purpose.
