Oh my goodness, Spokane truly surprised me! When I first planned my trip, I was just looking for some fun things to do in Washington, and Spokane kept popping up. What I found was a city full of unexpected charm and genuinely quirky sights that made my RV life adventure even better. First off, you absolutely have to see The Milk Bottle. I mean, where else can you grab a burger and milkshake inside a giant milk bottle? It’s an iconic piece of roadside Americana right in the middle of town, serving up delicious classic diner food. It’s such a unique experience and definitely one for the photo album! I loved pulling up and feeling like I’d stepped back in time. But Spokane isn't just about the weird and wonderful. Riverfront Park, right in the heart of downtown, is a must-visit. You can spend hours there! I enjoyed a peaceful stroll along the Spokane River, taking in the views of the stunning Spokane Falls. There’s even a gondola ride that gives you incredible panoramic views – definitely worth it! The park itself is full of interesting sculptures and green spaces, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. While exploring, I spotted that massive ram statue casually hanging out by the waterfall. It's one of those unexpected delights that make Spokane so special. And speaking of quirky, keep an eye out for other delightful oddities! I chuckled when I saw the "Slinky dog is now a working professional" sign, and then there's the incredibly cool, larger-than-life Radio Flyer wagon that just brings back so many childhood memories. It’s these little, unexpected public art pieces and landmarks that give Spokane so much character. If you're looking for more fun things to do, especially free things to do in Spokane, don't miss Manito Park. It's a botanical wonderland with different themed gardens – the rose garden was my absolute favorite, and it’s completely free to wander through. Another gem is exploring the historic Browne's Addition neighborhood, full of beautiful old mansions and unique architecture. It's great for a leisurely walk. Spokane truly has something for everyone, whether you're into unique roadside attractions, stunning natural beauty, or just a chill vibe. It’s a fantastic stop for any traveler, especially if you’re, like me, always on the lookout for those hidden gems and offbeat travel experiences. I'm already planning my next visit to see what other weird and wonderful things I can spot!
