The Edge of Reason (Michelle Torlot)
The Edge of Reason
Michelle Torlot
I really enjoyed this novel. It is a really cool concept for the world around werewolves. I always appreciate when an author can build within a world that has some pretty established patterns in the mythology and say but…what if…and then knocks it out of the park. And Michelle Torlot absolutely did that. The characters are so beautifully written, the world building is solid which also lets the characters come alive. The pace is really good. I always love a good human with their wolves dialogue, those are generally where I find especially funny moments. Ember truly comes alive and we watch as she blooms. Damon absolutely gives off those alpha vibes. He is a dominant character without being overwhelming. There is some spice, but I would call it pretty low grade heat, but definitely more than someone that doesn’t like spice will want. It is done tremendously well in the book and feels appropriate to the plot movement, we aren’t rushed immediately to that. I will definitely be pulling from her other novels to read.
