A Kingdom of Salt and Stone (Liv Webster)
A Kingdom of Salt and Stone
Liv Webster
Liv Webster creates a stunning world in the first book of the Jewel-Light Trilogy. The cast of characters are dynamic, the pacing is just right in creating and building towards the climactic high stakes ending where prophecy and choice become one and the same.
Maeve is our dynamic female main character. She is easily relatable, as we begin the story and she deals with anxiety and panic attacks but begins to trust herself and those around her becoming friends and ultimately her chosen family. She is also stubborn, witty and takes no nonsense from anyone despite her anxiety and overthinking.
This is a slow burn, forced proximity novel, with unique magic and folklore, an entirely new world.
I truly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read the second as we leave our characters off with a stunning revelation amidst a dramatic ending.
