Hollow wing ( sneak peek) (longhand style)
Hollow wing is my second novel that I am in the process of writing.
Each of my novels from Ghost of Blackmore to now Hollow wing have each been longhanded.
Longhand is something I personally prefer for me to be able to write the scenes I write.
I try to embody my characters as I try to give them a voice to share.

Writing a novel by hand may seem unconventional in the digital age, but it offers unique benefits that many authors find invaluable. From personal experience, longhand writing creates a deeper connection with the story and characters. Each stroke of the pen slows down the process, allowing me to reflect more intently on the emotions and motivations of the characters I am developing. In the case of Hollow Wing, the choice to write longhand allows a tactile engagement that typing cannot replicate. There’s a certain intimacy in physically shaping the narrative, which helps me embody my characters better. This method supports a more organic flow of ideas, as I am not distracted by screen notifications or the temptation to edit prematurely. Moreover, the longhand process fosters a unique rhythm in storytelling. It encourages me to think in scenes and sensory details, which brings a somantic quality to the narrative—a connection with body sensations and emotional undercurrents. This is especially valuable in darker or introspective writing, as seen in my previous novel, Ghost of Blackmore. For writers considering longhand, I recommend creating a comfortable, distraction-free writing environment. Invest in good quality notebooks and pens that feel good to use. Establishing a routine where you dedicate time solely to writing by hand can help strengthen your creative flow. Ultimately, writing Hollow Wing longhand is not just a stylistic choice but a means to give my characters authentic voices that resonate with readers. If you cherish deep character development and immersive scenes, embracing longhand might transform your writing experience the way it has mine.
