Buh bye!
Don’t be in the business of keep someone that doesn’t want to be kept! Just saying
I remember a time when I desperately tried to hold onto relationships, friendships, and even situations that clearly weren't serving me anymore. It felt like a personal failure if I couldn't make things work, or if someone decided to leave. But through a lot of tough lessons, I've come to understand a profound truth that’s helped me immensely, and I hope it helps you too: Don’t be in the business of trying to keep someone that doesn’t want to be kept. It sounds simple, right? Yet, it’s one of the hardest things to do. We tend to cling to familiarity, even if it’s painful, because the unknown can be terrifying. But when do you know it’s truly time to say goodbye? For me, it often boils down to effort and respect. If you’re consistently the only one putting in the effort, if your needs are constantly overlooked, or if you feel like you’re constantly fighting for a place in someone’s life, those are huge red flags. It’s a clear sign that they might already be halfway out the door, emotionally or physically. I've learned that if someone wants to walk out of your life, the kindest and most self-loving thing you can do is to truly LET THEM GO!! It’s not about giving up; it’s about recognizing your worth and preserving your energy. You deserve to be surrounded by people who genuinely want to be there, who reciprocate your effort, and who add value to your life, not drain it. The fear of saying goodbye often stems from a fear of loneliness or a perceived loss. But what I’ve found is that by creating space, you open yourself up to new possibilities, new connections, and even a deeper relationship with yourself. It’s incredibly liberating to release the burden of trying to control someone else's desire to stay or go. It allows you to reclaim your peace and refocus on what truly matters to you. Think about it: why would you want to force someone to stay who clearly doesn't value your presence? That's not love, friendship, or respect – it’s a form of emotional imprisonment, for both of you. So, the next time you find yourself in a situation where someone is clearly indicating they want to walk out of your life, take a deep breath. Acknowledge the pain, but then choose to let go. Trust that better things and truly aligned people are waiting for you beyond that goodbye. It’s an act of courage, an act of self-love, and a huge step towards your own happiness.
