ProzDesign Project Showcase|63 Ubi Road – Oxley Bi

A refined industrial workspace shaped by clarity, efficiency, and purposeful design.

This project reinterprets a raw industrial unit into a cohesive environment that supports both operational workflows and day-to-day office functions. The design approach centres on spatial organisation, material honesty, and a restrained visual language.

The open-plan workspace is defined by its generous layout and access to natural light, creating a bright and breathable environment. Long communal tables are introduced to encourage collaboration, while maintaining a sense of order and openness within the space.

An exposed ceiling concept reveals the building’s mechanical infrastructure, turning functional elements into part of the visual identity. Red sprinkler piping and black track lighting form a structured overhead grid, adding rhythm and depth without compromising ceiling height.

A muted palette of warm neutrals anchors the interior, softening the industrial elements and creating a balanced, comfortable setting for daily use.

The reception area is articulated through a textured feature wall, where clean-lined signage establishes a strong yet understated brand presence. This focal point sets the tone for the overall space — minimal, intentional, and quietly confident.

Towards the rear, a dedicated storage zone is carefully planned with industrial shelving systems, ensuring efficient organisation while supporting the operational needs of the business.

A lounge and presentation corner introduces a contrasting layer of warmth through timber finishes and soft lighting. The custom backlit display unit not only enhances the ambience but also functions as a versatile backdrop for meetings, product showcases, and content creation.

This project reflects a design philosophy where functionality and aesthetics are seamlessly integrated — transforming an industrial shell into a workspace that is both practical and refined.

Read moreFrom personal experience working in industrial-style office designs, spaces like the one at 63 Ubi Road by ProzDesign embody the perfect balance between raw functionality and refined aesthetics. The exposed ceiling concept, showcasing mechanical infrastructure such as red sprinkler piping and black track lighting, adds a distinctive character that often sparks creativity and conversation among teams. This approach embraces material honesty, a principle I find crucial for creating authentic environments. Additionally, the generous open-plan layout flooded with natural light promotes openness and enhances employee well-being—a factor often overlooked but vital for productivity. I have noticed in similar projects that integrating communal long tables encourages teamwork without sacrificing personal space, fostering a collaborative culture. What truly stands out is the thoughtful use of warm neutral tones to soften the industrial feel, making it welcoming rather than harsh. The reception’s textured feature wall with subtle branding offers a meaningful first impression, blending minimalism with identity seamlessly. Practical elements, such as the industrial shelving in the storage area, demonstrate how efficient organization can support daily operations without compromising design flow. The inclusion of a lounge and presentation corner with timber finishes and soft lighting introduces a warm, inviting environment perfect for meetings and content creation. Overall, the design philosophy at 63 Ubi Road highlights how industrial interiors, when carefully curated, can evolve beyond mere utility into versatile and inspiring workspaces. This project is a great source of inspiration for anyone looking to transform a raw industrial shell into a modern, functional, and aesthetically balanced office.
