Bringing my plants over

I started keeping plants since the pandemic, and was actively collecting them till around 2022 when I ran out of space. I've kept what I had and now that I've moved into our marital home, they've also moved in with me.

There's something about caring for plants thats therapeutic. Watering them, seeing new growth, propagating cuttings as the main plant grows old - a cycle that continues. I'm glad our place has good morning and afternoon sun.

... Read moreMoving plants to a new home can feel like bringing a piece of your past into your future. From my personal experience, the key to a smooth transition is preparing your plants ahead of the move. I started by pruning any dead leaves and checking for pests, as healthy plants adapt better to new environments. When relocating, I transported plants in well-ventilated containers and tried to keep their roots moist without overwatering. Once settled, I prioritized placing my plants in spots where morning and afternoon sun filtered in gently, as I found this lighting ideal for their growth and to prevent sunburn. The Japandi aesthetic of my home, which blends Japanese simplicity and Scandinavian warmth, complements my plant collection beautifully by providing a calm, minimalistic environment that enhances the plants’ natural beauty. Caring for plants has become a therapeutic ritual. I regularly water them, but also monitor soil moisture to avoid overwatering. Propagating cuttings has been a rewarding way to expand my collection while keeping the cycle of growth ongoing. It’s amazing to watch new leaves unfurl and plants adjust to the home, almost like they’re settling in alongside us. For anyone bringing plants into a shared space, especially a new home, consider discussing plant placement with your partner to ensure everyone’s comfortable. Plants can improve not only aesthetic appeal but also air quality, creating a healthier living environment. Overall, nurturing plants is about patience, consistent care, and adapting to their needs as they grow alongside your life changes.

Best (& EASIEST) indoor plants to grow in SG 🪴
We always say plants can instantly bring life and warmth into a space 🌿 - but let’s be honest, not everyone has the time (or green thumb) to keep them alive. Beyond just adding a pop of colour to a space, it’s also great for improving air quality and creating a calming sanctuary in your home. 🌫
