The snow came and covered every hurried footprint.
The benches wait white and patient.
No one has to sit yet.
The trees lift their arms the way younger me lifted my camera
Just to catch the sky’s quiet colors
Before they slipped away.
Today I let myself be whimsical again,
Romantic about empty paths,
Grateful for the hush,
A little chaotic in my wonder.
It’s scary to feel this alive,
Yet here I am,
Standing a little longer.
Just being.
