☁️ Chiang Mai EP 2.2 First one-man trip to Chiang Dao

Good morning from Chiang Dao. ☁️⛰️

I woke up with a sea of fog, cold weather, wind, quiet and a helpless atmosphere. 🌫️🤍

The picture is beautiful, right? But I can say that it's not easy to get it.

I want to invite you to this story because this is my "first trip to the stars" and it can be an important story for anyone who is hesitant to travel like this.

📌 The beginning of Chiang Dao.

Before, I didn't even know where Chiang Dao was.

If anyone followed up from the first EP, they would know that I was working in Chiang Mai until the head who worked together suggested that

"If you come to Chiang Mai, you have to go to Chiang Dao once."

I tried to find out and immediately felt that this was not a typical trip, but a "challenging" journey for myself.

🏍️ The journey alone wasn't easy.

I rented a motorcycle in the city and drove up to Chiang Dao alone, a long distance, a winding path, a lot of curves, a fast car, and a lot of steep ranges.

If you want to know how beautiful the destination is, sometimes we have to try.

On the way through "Rubber Tree Road," this point is like telling us that it's over half way. 🌳 A little later, there will be a 30 baht toll on the highway. No transfer, you have to prepare cash.

Then the real thing is, the curve is up and down, the rain is intermittent, the road is slippery, there is mud, there is a car going up and down, but it drives very hard, sometimes the sky is dark.

And then I arrived around 3: 00, and what I saw immediately showed that it was worth every kilometer I drove.

🏕️ my heart told me to stay.

At first I meant to go and go, but when I saw the view, my heart told me to stay for another night.

The problem is, I didn't reserve most of the shelters so full that luckily, "Lee Soo Homestay House" was left, and I decided to stay immediately, because if I go down in the evening, it's dark, it's raining, it's very dangerous.

And this is the beginning of my Chiang Dao story.

🌙 Silent night on a high altitude.

The night was freezing, the rain was all night, there were no stars to see, just the cold wind, the cough and the silence.

The phone has no signal. All you can do is talk to strangers. I also met a motorcycle rental. The world is very round. People close to home meet on the doi. We exchanged photos, small talk, small moments, but very good.

☁️ Chiang Dao's best morning.

And then in the morning, the picture I opened at the beginning

Is the peak of this trip.

The sea of fog floated low, it rained thin, and I took a sip of hot coffee, took a nice breath of air, sat quietly with myself before saying goodbye to Chiang Dao.

📞 Back to the real world.

Driving down a motorcycle downtown, the phone rang again, like back in the world, and the heart beat back after filling itself with fire. 🔋

✨ what I want to say.

Anyone who has ever been discouraged, upset or discouraged, living is coming out with something new like this, and I believe everyone has a lot of good stories to wait for.

📌 Travel Information & Expenses

🏍️ Sleeping Train Bangkok - Chiang Mai (Late Night to Morning) Upper Bed 800 Baht

🏍️ City Bike Rental 350 Baht / day

⛽ Oil cost Go 200 > Return 100 Baht

🏕️ Lee Soo Homestay House

Tent > 850 Baht per night / person

Dinnerware > Omelette, Vegetable Stir-fry, Freshwater, Chili Juice

Breakfast > Porridge Coffee Ovaltine

There is a cafe on the property (other food, buy more).

⚠️ Important suggestions (special emphasis)

📵 The phone has no signal. When you enter the doi, you will not be able to contact anyone. It is recommended to tell the important family or close friends in advance that you will enter the doi and will be able to contact again when you return to the city.

⛰️ The up-down route is quite dangerous. The winding way is steep. It is up and down all along. Risking the slippery road, especially during the rainy season. It should be driven with extra care.

💵 Prepare cash reserves, some don't accept transfers, and there's no ATM on Doi.

💊 Necessary Necessary Necessary - It is really important to highlight here. The area on Doi Chiang Dao is quite remote. Hospitals or medical facilities are not near if there is an emergency. Than to drive down to the city, there is almost no chance to miss it. Anyone who has a disease or needs to take medication regularly should always be prepared and in case.

🧴 Personal effects Toothpaste Toothbrush Soap Hair Shampoo Cream Powder Mosquito Repellent

🧥 Sweater. Winter is colder than I thought, especially at night.

Thank you for coming in to read it until the end. 🤍 Who has more brutal experience? Let's share it. See you on the last EP.
