Don’t give up!
Discipline doesn't mean you don't mess up. It means you don't give up.
Let's let go of the myth that you have to be perfect this year. Messing up is something we're all bound to do.
Maybe you overspent on vacation this summer.
Maybe you skipped a savings month because life got expensive.
Maybe you had the money conversation with your spouse you swore you wouldn't avoid again — and it didn't go the way you planned.
None of that makes you a failure. It makes you human.
The only real failure is quitting because you didn't get it right the first time.
If you're halfway through the year and feel like you've messed up too many times to keep going — this is your reminder.
Discipline was never about getting it perfect. It's about getting back up.
What are you not giving up on this year?

In my personal journey toward achieving financial freedom, I've realized that setbacks are inevitable but not the end of the road. Just like the message here—that discipline means refusing to give up despite mistakes—I once faced months where my budget completely unraveled. Overspending on vacations or unexpected bills pushed me off track, and I felt discouraged. However, what helped me the most was shifting my mindset from seeking perfection to embracing progress. Every time I slipped up, I reminded myself that these moments didn’t define my failure—they defined my progress. Instead of quitting, I revisited my financial plan, adjusted where necessary, and recommitted to my goals. Interestingly, having open conversations with my partner about finances, even when difficult, strengthened our teamwork rather than creating conflict. It was humbling but necessary to be honest about where we struggled. The discipline that PUGH Financial Coaching champions—a commitment to keep going despite mistakes—is what ultimately fueled my success. If you’re feeling like giving up after setbacks, remember that true failure is quitting. Take a breath, get back up, and continue moving forward with renewed determination. Your financial freedom is built on persistence, not perfection.
