1. “a certain hunger”: this is a great book if you believe in women in killing, not just men can murder and be into cannibalism you know. “a certain hunger” is very enthralling, unpredictable, and not that long of a book so it’s perfect for a binge-read over a couple days or so.
2. “what moves the dead”: this book is a good book if you like supernatural animals/zombie like infections. it gives creepy vibes all throughout the book and the characters are easy to be attached to as they’re written so complex and detailed.
3. “what feasts at night”: this is the second book in the series (first book is above). the protagonist goes on their way to help a friend, but when they reach the location, there’s a dead body, a messed up house, and no noise. and that’s at the beginning of the book, no waiting for action here!
4. “the night will find us”: this is a teenage horror book, with the main characters being six teenagers celebrating the end of the school year with a camping trip. let’s just say, there’s something hiding in the lake that doesn’t want them to survive the night.
5. “the hollow places”: this book is weird and trippy, but you do need a bit of patience as the beginning is slow and focuses on details about characters and not actions. if you like portals and other dimensions, this is for you!
6. “necroscope”: a true scary vampire book! no glitter, all fangs. the antagonist vampire teaches a human the power of necromancy, but this human wants world domination and doesn’t care about helping his vampire teacher. this book actually spun off into a whole collection so if you like it, there’s plenty more books!
7. “till we become monsters”: this book is great if you like cryptids and survival horror. the youngest son lives in the shadow of his brother and even believes he’s a monster. a death in the family happens which causes the young boy to try to kill his older brother and that’s just the beginning!
