6 Daily Non-Negotiables ✔️
These 6 things are a MUST when it comes to my daily routine. Here’s why I need to ✔️ them off the to-do list:
✅Me-time with no screen time- first thing I do when I wake up is (I try) to not pick up my phone. (PRO TIP: set it on do not disturb until the time you are ready to pick it up and start your day. For example, my phone doesn’t come off do not disturb until 8:00. So if I wake up at 7, I have the whole first hour of the day to myself with no phone distractions). The first hour of the day I like to do some yoga, stretching, breathing exercises, read, listen to a podcast or a combo of multiple of them. The key here is to just be present so do whatever activity brings your mind to your body!
✅ Take out the trash- aka brain dump. Journal out any negative thoughts that are taking over your mind. Get it out in the open and take it out of your mind onto paper. This way you can start the day with a clean slate.
✅Hydrate like a maniac- one gallon of water a day is the goal! I highly recommend a gallon water bottle that helps you track your drinking levels throughout the day (plus, who doesn’t like a cute lil motivational message to keep ya goin?).
✅Complete the hardest thing of the day- do the hardest thing you have to do that day- get it out of the way and done with! This can be a tough work call or a tough workout- whatever it may be for that day get it done!! This way the rest of the day you know will be smooth sailing (or closer to it) because you already completed the hardest part.
✅Do something that ignites my inner child- keep that passion flow growin! This is the fun part, do something that makes your heart SOAR!! Mine changes and depending on my mood I might paint, sketch/draw, write poetry, or have a dance party with myself!
✅Unwind while watching the sunset- when the sun is going down, then so am I! I love my ritual of closing out the day in sync with the sun while sipping on my go-to sleep girl drink: PureJoy’s Unwind. Not only is it in the name but its blueberry lavender flavor is SO DELISH!! It’s packed with adaptogens like passion flower, ashwagandha, lavender and magnesium, making it the perfect concoction to help your body + mind relax for the night.

Building a solid foundation for my day, centered around 'wellness' and 'inner peace,' has become absolutely crucial. I used to feel overwhelmed and reactive, but embracing these 'daily non-negotiable habits' has been a game-changer. It's not just about ticking off a list; it's about intentionally carving out moments that nourish my mind, body, and soul, making them truly essential practices for a thriving life. Let's dive a little deeper into why these practices are fundamental and how you might integrate them. That 'me-time with no screen time' isn't just a luxury; it's a necessity. Waking up and immediately diving into digital input often sets a frantic tone. By delaying that, even for 30 minutes, I give my brain a chance to gently transition, fostering clarity and calm. Light yoga or simply sitting with my thoughts helps me feel grounded. It’s about being present and mindful before distractions begin. Then there's the 'brain dump,' or 'take out the trash.' This habit is profound for mental decluttering. Our minds can get crowded with worries, to-dos, and negative self-talk. Journaling allows me to externalize those thoughts, giving them less power. It’s like hitting a reset button, helping me start with a cleaner mental slate. Just let whatever is swirling in your head spill onto the page. It’s incredibly cathartic. 'Hydrate!!!' – as my water bottle reminds me. Consistent hydration fuels everything from my energy levels to my skin health and cognitive function. I used to struggle, but a designated gallon bottle that tracks my intake makes it easier. It's a simple, physical act that supports my entire system. And how about tackling the 'hardest task of the day FIRST'? This comes straight from the 'do your hardest task of the day FIRST' philosophy. It’s a powerful psychological hack. When you get that daunting task out of the way early, the rest of your day feels lighter, more manageable. The sense of accomplishment provides a huge boost in motivation. Getting it done liberates so much mental energy. Finding that one thing that 'sparks my inner child-fuels my passion!!' is pure joy. In our adult lives, we often lose touch with simple, creative play. Whether it's sketching, dancing to my favorite tunes, or just spending time on a hobby that brings me genuine delight, these moments are vital. They reignite my creativity, reduce stress, and remind me of the pure fun life can offer. It’s an essential antidote to the seriousness of daily responsibilities. Finally, the ritual of an 'unwind while watching the sunset'. This isn't just about ending the day; it's about transitioning consciously. The calm beauty of the sunset naturally encourages me to slow down and reflect. Pairing it with a relaxing drink helps signal to my body and mind that it's time to switch off and prepare for restorative sleep. It's a gentle, consistent way to close out the day, ensuring I don't carry stresses into the night. These habits aren't about perfection; they're about consistency and self-compassion. If I miss one, I don't beat myself up. I just pick it back up the next day. They've become integral to my 'wellness lifestyle' and my pursuit of 'inner peace,' creating a framework for a more intentional and joyful existence. I truly believe that by building your own set of 'daily non-negotiable habits,' you can create a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
