I broke it already.

Tell me you’ve had a rough couple of months… without telling me. I’ll go first. 👇

One appointment. One new splint. One step closer… I hope.

It’s been almost two months since I injured my wrist, and I’ll be honest… I’m over it. The pain. The waiting. The not being able to do the simple things you don’t even think about until you can’t.

Today I was fitted with this custom splint, and I’m hoping this is finally the turning point. I miss having two working hands, and I really miss getting behind my camera without having to think about the pain.

Healing isn’t always quick, and it definitely isn’t always easy. But every step forward is still progress… even when it doesn’t feel like it.

Now tell me… what’s the longest injury you’ve ever had to recover from? 👇

... Read moreDealing with a wrist injury has been one of the most challenging experiences I've faced, especially as a photographer whose craft relies so heavily on manual dexterity. When you injure a part of your body that normally functions seamlessly, even the simplest tasks can feel frustratingly difficult. From trying to hold a cup of coffee to managing my camera gear, each moment has been a reminder of how much I took my wrist for granted. One of the biggest hurdles in recovery is patience. Healing times can vary, and setbacks are common. For me, getting fitted with a custom splint was a turning point because it provided not only physical support but also a psychological boost—signaling a step forward in the healing journey. Although the pain may linger and progress might seem slow, wearing the splint allowed me to gradually regain confidence in using my hand without exacerbating the injury. I’ve learned that adapting to limitations doesn’t mean giving up. Instead, it means finding new ways to engage with your passion. For instance, during this recovery phase, I’ve explored remote photography techniques, worked on photo editing, and planned shoots mentally, so when my wrist is stronger, I’ll be ready to dive back into my work with renewed energy. If you're recovering from a wrist injury or any long-term pain, it's crucial to trust the process and celebrate small victories. These can include reduced pain levels, improved mobility, or simply making it through a tough day without setbacks. Healing truly takes a lot of mental resilience alongside the physical aspects. Sharing these experiences helps me feel less isolated, and I encourage others to open up about their own healing journeys. Whether you’ve faced a sprain, fracture, or any orthopedic challenge, know that each step forward—no matter how small—is progress. Keep going, take it one day at a time, and remember that with patience and proper care, you can reclaim your life and passions even after injury.
