Why I Said Goodbye to Instagram & Facebook

At exactly 11:59 PM on December 31, 2024, I made a decision: I deleted both Instagram and Facebook from my life. Here’s why:

✨ Social Media Should Inspire, Not Drain

Over time, I realized that Facebook and Instagram didn’t feel authentic anymore. The energy wasn’t genuine. Instead of building connections, it felt like I was surrounded by monitoring spirits, people watching but not truly engaging.

✨ The Algorithms Weren’t Working for Me

On these platforms, the content often felt toxic or overly curated—leaving little room for genuine inspiration. On the other hand, my experiences on Pinterest, Twitter, Lemon8, and TikTok have been completely different. The algorithms on these platforms bring me content that’s uplifting, motivating, and aligns with the person I want to become.

✨ Twitter is First for News & Information

Let’s be honest—Twitter has always been faster than IG or FB when it comes to real-time news, updates, and conversations. It’s where people go first to share breaking stories and meaningful discussions.

✨ Pinterest Fuels My Creativity, and TikTok Teaches Me

Whether it’s creating vision boards, finding life hacks, or engaging with thought-provoking topics, these platforms inspire me daily. I use Snapchat now just for the camera because it’s easier and free from distractions.

✨ Lemon8 is My Fresh Start

Lemon8 feels like a space where people share authentic, beautiful, and impactful stories. It’s refreshing to connect with like-minded individuals in a genuine way.

I’m stepping into 2025 with intention, prioritizing platforms that fuel growth, creativity, and mindfulness. Let’s connect where the vibes are real. 💛

Users are increasingly seeking alternatives that provide authenticity and positivity, moving towards environments that resonate with their values. Lemon8 stands out as a refreshing option since it encourages genuine connections and content sharing that align closely with individual interests. Using Lemon8, users can celebrate creativity and find inspiration through shared experiences—something that traditional social media may inhibit. Platforms like Pinterest and TikTok also serve diverse purposes: Pinterest ignites creativity with vision boards and DIY ideas, while TikTok offers quick, informative content across various topics. Users appreciate these spaces for their uplifting nature and the sense of community fostered by shared creativity. Moreover, Twitter remains the fastest source for breaking news and real-time discussions, highlighting its role in keeping audiences informed. This blend of platforms allows users to curate their online experiences intentionally while focusing on their personal growth and well-being. In an era of digital wellness, prioritizing spaces that inspire and elevate should be a collective goal for social media users.

❤️❤️❤️I love this! I actually did the same 4the new year. I specifically deleted my Facebook app & Instagram app but I kept tik tok & snap chat bc on snap, I purposefully only follow 10 people. I like the privacy. On tik tok I blocked all of those that I know personally on there as well. I just wanted to feel free!
