From Bonito, local agencies arrange tours to the Sucuri River, which is located on a private ranch – they're super organized! When I went for the floating experience, they provided all the gear: a snorkel, mask, and a wetsuit (even though the water isn't freezing, it helps with buoyancy and comfort).
