早朝出発で、登山口までは車で約3時間。そこから片道約1.5〜2時間のトレッキングとなります🥾
標高が高いため、防寒対策と高山病対策は必須。

晴天時は色彩がより鮮明に見えるため、乾季（5〜9月）がベストシーズンとされています☀️

Visiting Vinicunca, or Rainbow Mountain, was one of the most memorable experiences of my travels in Peru. The mountain’s natural gradient of colors—reds, yellows, and greens—comes from mineral-rich layers that were revealed by glacial melting and erosion over centuries. It felt like witnessing Earth’s very own painted masterpiece. The trek from Cusco is challenging but rewarding. Starting early in the morning, the drive alone takes about three hours through stunning Andean landscapes, preparing you for the altitude ahead. Once at the base, the trail is roughly 1.5 to 2 hours uphill, where the thin air makes every step demanding. I strongly recommend taking a couple of days in Cusco first to acclimate, as altitude sickness is common here. Weather can be quite cold despite the sun, so dressing in layers and bringing waterproof gear was essential for me. I also used oxygen supplements as a precaution, which helped significantly. The dry season from May to September is truly the best time to visit, as clear skies make the colors pop even more vividly against the sky. What struck me most was how this geological wonder draws people from around the world, each captivated by the mesmerizing gradation painted by the Earth itself. Hiking up there, I felt deeply connected to nature and the geological history preserved in every stripe of the mountain.
