... Read moreHey everyone! So many of you have been asking about how I manage to keep up with my self-care routine and stay feeling confident, especially when I'm on the go. It's truly a journey, and I’m excited to share some of my personal tips, especially when thinking about a trip to an amazing place like South Korea!
First off, long flights can be tough, but they don't have to derail your self-care goals. I always make sure my airplane seat becomes my little sanctuary. A comfy Mickey Mouse themed eye mask is an absolute game-changer for getting some quality sleep, even if it's just for a few hours. And don't forget your favorite plush toy or travel pillow to make the experience extra cozy. I usually pack a soft black patterned sweater to layer up because cabin temperatures can be unpredictable. Staying hydrated is key, so I always have my reusable water bottle with me. Instead of constantly staring at my phone, I try to use flight time for meditation or simply enjoying the quiet. Watching the flight information on the entertainment screen can be mesmerizing, but switching off and recharging is even better for your mind.
Once you land, whether it's in a bustling hub like Shanghai Pudong (which was my last stop, but the lessons apply anywhere!) or directly in South Korea, the adventure truly begins. And guess what? Your self-care doesn't have to stop. South Korea is a paradise for self-care, especially if you're into K-beauty! I love exploring local drugstores for sheet masks, serums, and unique skincare products that are gentle on my skin after travel. Finding a local spa or jimjilbang (Korean bathhouse) is an incredible way to relax and rejuvenate, truly embracing that body transformation journey from the inside out.
Eating well is another huge part of feeling good. South Korea offers so many delicious and healthy options. Think fresh bibimbap, light soups, and plenty of flavorful vegetables. It's a wonderful opportunity to nourish your body while experiencing the local culture. Don't be afraid to treat yourself, but also try to balance it with mindful eating.
Finally, embracing vulnerability and focusing on body confidence is crucial, no matter where you are. Remember, travel is about experiences, discovery, and making memories. Don't let worries about a 'summer bod' or how you look in photos steal your joy. Everyone is on their own journey, and the most beautiful thing you can wear is confidence. Pick outfits that make you feel good and comfortable for exploring – those casual outfits I mentioned? They're perfect for wandering through Seoul's vibrant streets or hiking in its beautiful national parks. This mindset really helps me love every minute, and I hope it helps you too on your next amazing trip to South Korea!
