Is expensive haircare worth the money?
hello all,
I’m thinking of getting hair masks from Sephora but $60+ for hair care is making me hesitate. I typically only use drugstore hair products and I’ve never really had issues with my hair looking damaged or dry, but it definitely doesn’t look super shiny like the influencers’ does. I am currently growing out a weird funky pixie-ish cut that I instantly regretted getting :/ I’m afraid it’s gonna make it much harder to actually grow out if I have to keep straightening it to make it look right (it looks like a bowl cut if I don’t use a straightener to flip out the ends lol.) any recs? ❤️
When it comes to hair care, many consumers find themselves questioning whether premium products justify their cost. Products like OLAPLEX that incorporate bond-building technology claim to repair and strengthen hair, providing benefits that may not be achievable with drugstore options. While drugstore products can effectively clean and condition, they often lack specialized ingredients that contribute to long-term hair health. It’s essential to consider your hair type and specific needs when investing in expensive haircare. For individuals with dry or damaged hair, splurging on quality masks can provide hydration and shine, possibly reducing the need for frequent styling, which can lead to further damage. Luxury haircare brands often focus on science-backed formulations with high-quality ingredients, potentially offering visible results that appeal to those seeking healthy, shiny hair like that seen on social media influencers. A growing trend is to combine high-end treatments with DIY routines; for instance, using a rich, nourishing mask once a week can complement regular drugstore shampoos and conditioners, enhancing the overall health and appearance of your hair. In conclusion, while expensive haircare products may seem like a luxury, they can prove beneficial for those dealing with specific hair issues. Balancing between quality and budget is key, and trying out samples before investing in full-size products can help you find the best products for your hair's unique needs.

I really like Ouai! I tend to use a hair products just because they’re cheap, they smell good and get the job done😂 But there are definitely other cheaper options. I believe it’s Camille rose at Walmart that I’ve heard good things about.❤️
