Mid morning prayer

Mid morning prayer: 🙏🏾

Lord, help me to stay focus. Keep me energized and let everything I do be beneficial to you. Let every word that I speak, be of encouragement and not pessimistic. Let me be slow to speak and listen with the intent to understand. Take off my blinders and guide my path, so that I can see clearly. Remove the spirit of anger, jealousy and malice if it’s lying dormant in my heart. Let everything fall in place as you desire it to. Amen! #dailyprayer🙏🏽 #unfiltered #embracevulnerability

... Read moreI completely resonate with the need for a 'mid day prayer'! It's so easy for the afternoon slump to hit, or for the morning's intentions to get muddled with daily stresses. That's why I've found a midday spiritual check-in to be an absolute game-changer. It’s not just about reciting words; it’s about hitting the reset button on your soul and realigning with your purpose for the rest of the day. For me, the core of a powerful midday prayer, much like the beautiful one shared here, is about reclaiming focus and warding off negativity. You know those moments when you feel your energy dipping, or perhaps a conversation didn't go as planned, leaving you feeling a little off? That's precisely when a midday prayer becomes your anchor. It’s a dedicated moment to consciously choose clarity over confusion, and peace over agitation. I often find myself pausing around noon or early afternoon, even if it's just for five minutes. I might step away from my desk, find a quiet corner, or simply close my eyes wherever I am. The key is to create a small, sacred space in your day. I start by taking a few deep breaths, letting go of the morning's hustle. Then, I reflect on intentions similar to those shared: 'Lord, help me to stay focused.' This isn't just about work tasks; it's about staying focused on my values, my kindness, and my spiritual path. The line about letting 'every word that I speak, be of encouragement and not pessimistic' truly hits home. It's a reminder to be mindful of my interactions, not just with others, but with myself. During my midday prayer, I actively try to release any critical self-talk or judgment that might have crept in. It’s a practice of speaking life and encouragement, knowing that these words shape my reality. And 'listen with the intent to understand' – oh, how crucial this is! In our fast-paced world, it's easy to listen to respond rather than to truly comprehend. Midday prayer offers a chance to cultivate that deep listening, not just to others, but to my own inner wisdom and spiritual guidance. It's about taking off those 'blinders' that keep us from seeing situations clearly or understanding perspectives beyond our own. Finally, addressing those 'spirits of anger, jealousy and malice' is incredibly liberating. We all carry these emotions sometimes, even if they're 'lying dormant.' A midday prayer is a perfect opportunity for a spiritual cleanse. I consciously visualize releasing these heavy feelings, asking for grace and forgiveness, both for myself and for anyone who might have triggered these emotions. It’s like clearing out the mental clutter, making space for compassion and understanding. Embracing this mid day ritual has transformed my afternoons. Instead of feeling drained, I often feel re-energized, more intentional, and ready to approach the rest of my day with a renewed sense of purpose and peace. It’s not about perfection, but about consistent, heartfelt effort to reconnect and realign.
