I really liked this dystopian-esque book. Kind of reminded me of Hunger Games mixed in with Divergent. Kenji was definitely a favorite character. He reminded me of Ridoc and I’m here for it. Some favorite quotes “A spare.
That’s all I ever was, I realize. A spare part kept in captivity. A backup weapon in the case that all else failed.
Shatter me.
Break glass in case of emergency.”
“Every single time you claim to understand even a fraction of what I’m feeling, I want to disembowel you. I want to sever your carotid artery. I want to rip out your vertebrae, one by one. You have no idea what it is to love her,” he says angrily. “You couldn’t even begin to imagine. So stop trying to understand.”
“ Come back to me, love. Come back.” I’m still struggling to breathe, desperately searching his eyes for answers. Explanations. “Where?” “Here,” he whispers, pressing my hands to his heart. “Home.”
This book series was so good for me. I didn’t know how I felt for this whole book my emotions were everywhere. I cannot stop thinking about how good Aaron and Kenji were for this whole series. They both loved her so much in two different ways. I’m devastated for Emmaline and what she had to go through and I’m grateful they were able to stop what they were doing to her. I’m so happy for the happy ending. Aaron’s constant fight to bring back the love of his life and succeeding was everything. Juliette suffered through so much, including having to hurt herself for Anderson. I AM NOT INSANE! #aaronwarner#shatterme#iamnotinsane#books#top5

... Read moreAs a huge fan of the Shatter Me series, I totally get that feeling of wanting to immerse yourself completely in Juliette's world, even after you've finished the last page. Beyond re-reading my favorite quotes (and believe me, there are so many!), one of my go-to ways to keep the magic alive is by setting up some gorgeous Shatter Me wallpapers on my phone or computer. The series' aesthetic is just so unique and captivating, making it perfect for a daily dose of dystopian beauty!
I was just looking through some of the iconic book covers, and honestly, they are wallpaper gold! Think about the first book, 'Shatter Me,' with those haunting tree branches and the eye – it perfectly captures the mystery and vulnerability of Juliette's early life. Or 'Unravel Me,' with its stunning ice motif, reflecting the chilling twists Warner's world introduces. Setting one of these as your background is like carrying a piece of the story with you.
Then there’s 'Ignite Me,' blooming with flowers, symbolizing Juliette's growth and power. The vibrant imagery is such a stark contrast to the earlier covers, and it just screams transformation. And who could forget 'Restore Me' with that striking white eye? It’s so powerful and enigmatic, making you ponder who Juliette truly is. 'Defy Me' features those dramatic icy feathers, hinting at conflict and resilience, while 'Imagine Me' shines with golden spikes and jewels, representing the culmination of her journey and her newfound strength. Each cover tells its own story, and they all make for visually stunning backgrounds.
But it’s not just the official covers! Sometimes I love to create my own personal wallpapers. I'll often take some of those powerful quotes, like "A spare. That’s all I ever was," or "Shatter me. Break glass in case of emergency," and combine them with minimalist designs. Imagine Kenji's witty lines or Aaron's intense declarations subtly displayed on your screen – it's a constant reminder of the characters we've grown to love. You can even find fan-made art featuring Kenji, Aaron, and Juliette that perfectly captures their essence. Minimalist designs with a single symbol from the series, like the phoenix or the infinity sign, also make for subtle yet impactful wallpapers.
For anyone looking to find these, a quick search on Pinterest or deviantArt for 'Shatter Me book covers wallpaper' or 'Shatter Me fan art' will yield amazing results. You can also screenshot your favorite passages from the e-books and use a simple editing app to overlay them on a textured background. It’s a fun, creative way to personalize your devices and keep the spirit of the series alive. Plus, it’s a great conversation starter when friends spot your unique background! These visual reminders help me relive the emotional rollercoaster of the series and appreciate the incredible world Tahereh Mafi created.
