I can’t change her story — but I can rewrite mine.
Sometimes, life makes you the one who shows up — even when no one else does. 💚
Some things in life really cannot plan one… you just do it ’cause it feels right.
Visited my aunty again. We lost contact for many years, only reconnected last Sept. She’s not married, no kids — and honestly, when I was young, she never seemed to like me much leh. I was the mischievous and daredevil one compared to all her nieces! 😅
But life really funny sometimes.
Now she trusts me enough to make important decisions for her. Not easy lor — sometimes I feel stressed, scared, even judged. People may say I’m kaypoh or “too free” since I’m a freelancer. Some might even think I got motive! 🤦🏻♀️
Last time I used to care what people say.
Now I don’t bother already.
’Cause when she smiles seeing me, that’s enough. 🫶
Still, it makes me think…
how sad it is that at her age, she cannot enjoy her retirement. Bed-bound, fully dependent — after a lifetime of saving and stinging for “later.”
I am much more fortunate than her. I have a family.
But I also don’t want to burden my family when I’m old.
I don’t want to sting on myself or live with regrets.
I want to do what I like, and live the way I want.
Glad that this automated platform allows me to do more — to plan ahead, live meaningfully, and still leave something behind. 🌿✨
Don’t sting on yourself till too late lah.
Love yourself, live a little, plan smart —
so you can enjoy your golden years with peace of mind. 💚
