I don’t hard sell. I hike steady.

16.35km.

From my house → Windsor → Treetop → MacRitchie.

Thank for the good weather 😊

First time hiking with my husband’s cycling friend…

and first time meeting his wife too.

In the past, i usually don’t like meeting new people for a hike or meal.

Friend’s friend I’m ok.

But total stranger? Errr a bit 🫢

This hike was longer than previous week’s Bukit Timah one.

Yet strangely, it felt less painful.

Bukit Timah was shorter…

but that steep slope/stairs nearly finished me 😂

Hike was long.

But steady.

Gradual.

Manageable.

And it made me realise something.

I don’t hate hard things.

I just don’t like steep things.

Same for life.

Same for business.

I don’t like forcing.

I don’t like pushing.

I don’t like “selling”.

I’m that introvert-extrovert mix.

Can talk. Can share.

But hard sell? I shrink 😅

That’s why traditional selling never sat well with me.

Digital business, for me, feels like today’s hike.

Not aggressive.

Not shouting.

Just steady steps.

Show up.

Share honestly.

Build trust slowly.

Let people decide.

Growth is tiring.

But pretending to be someone you’re not? Even more exhausting.

I’m learning that I don’t have to change my personality to grow.

Just keep walking. Steady steps. My way.

Are you more of a steep-slope person…

or a steady-step person like me?

... Read moreHiking often serves as a metaphor for life's journey, and in my experience, taking steady, manageable steps can be far more rewarding than reaching the summit all at once. During my recent 16.35km hike through Windsor, Treetop, and MacRitchie, I noticed how pacing myself, rather than rushing up steep slopes, made the experience more enjoyable and sustainable. This approach mirrors my philosophy in business, especially digital entrepreneurship. Many entrepreneurs, particularly those new to the digital space, feel pressured to adopt aggressive marketing tactics or hard selling techniques to achieve quick results. However, this method often feels unnatural and exhausting, particularly for those who identify as introverted or a blend of introvert and extrovert personalities. From personal experience, I've found that building trust slowly, showing up consistently, and sharing honestly resonates better with both myself and my audience. In fact, the concept of "slow growth" is vital for long-term sustainability. Much like a steady hike, gradual progress allows for reflection, adaptation, and genuine connections. For example, interacting with my husband’s cycling friend and his wife during the hike introduced new social experiences without overwhelming me, showing how carefully curated opportunities can expand your network organically. Moreover, embracing your authentic self in business — avoiding the pressure to conform to aggressive selling styles — reduces burnout and lets your true value shine. The digital business space offers ample possibilities for this kind of mindful growth, where you can share your journey and ideas with a community that values transparency and patience. If you’re someone who finds steep slopes daunting in hiking or hard selling intimidating in business, try pacing yourself with steady steps. Embrace your personality, build meaningful relationships, and allow your growth to unfold naturally. After all, the journey matters as much as the destination.
