Grandson in the Lab
🍔👨🏽🍳 THE KITCHEN LAB IS OPEN! 🧪❤️
Last night, my grandson Tyrik (TY) decided he wanted to make his very own Krabby Patty! For him and his sister 😂🍔 And let me tell y’all… he went straight to work in Nana’s Kitchen Lab! 👨🏽🍳🔥
No fancy ingredients. No secret formula. Just chopped up ground beef, sharp cheddar cheese, tomato, pickles, onion, ketchup, mustard and bread and BABYYYY, he put that burger together like he had been cooking for years! 😂🙌🏽
What warms my heart the MOST is watching my grandson get in the kitchen and WANT to learn. ❤️ He’s not just making food he’s making memories, building confidence, learning independence, and spending time with Nana.
And let me tell you something—Nana’s Kitchen Lab is ALWAYS open! 🥰
Tonight it was a Krabby Patty tomorrow, who knows what these little chefs are going to come up with! 😂😂
I’m one proud Nana! ❤️👩🏽🍳 They ate that‼️‼️

Spending time cooking with grandchildren is truly one of the most rewarding experiences. When my own kids started to show interest in the kitchen, I noticed how the simple act of making a meal together sparked creativity and learning in ways nothing else could. Just like Nana’s Kitchen Lab, creating a dedicated space where young chefs feel welcome to experiment encourages them to develop important life skills. When kids prepare food, it’s not just about the recipe. They learn patience by following steps, responsibility by handling utensils safely, and pride as they see the final result. Using everyday ingredients — like ground beef, cheese, fresh veggies, and condiments — proves that great meals don’t require fancy or secret ingredients. Plus, cooking together becomes a bonding ritual, packed with laughter and shared stories. In my experience, allowing children to choose what to cook or how to assemble their dish increases their confidence and independence. We started with simple dishes similar to the Krabby Patty: burgers, sandwiches, and easy snacks. Over time, the children suggested their own variations and even invented new recipes, which led to fun kitchen adventures much like Nana anticipates for tomorrow’s creations. Nana’s Kitchen Lab is more than a kitchen — it’s a classroom, a playground, and a memory maker. Whether you’re a nana, parent, or guardian, opening your kitchen to little chefs can lead to priceless moments. Plus, it inspires a lifelong love of cooking and eating well. So, invite your grandchildren or kids to join you. Start with a basic recipe and watch them thrive as they cook, create, and connect.
