Back in 2022, I randomly decided I missed doing theatre. I walked into the audition room in my mind, saying I’m leaving here with a role. Any role will do. I hadn’t done theatre in over ten years at that point.
Don’t be afraid to try, don’t be afraid of mistakes, there is no shame in community theater.
My other rule, don’t audition unless you love or at least like the source material. I have a friend who gets annoyed by this, but if I don’t like the story or source material, I don’t think I’m going to bring justice to that show.
