TRUST the Process 🎵♥️
If I would have known that, it would take over 10 years to perfect just one piece of music from an opera that I loved, I wonder if I would have continued singing it as much as I do. The reason why I sing “SUMMERTIME” from George Gershwin‘s opera Porgy and Bess is because I genuinely love the way it feels when I sing it. But the process is a never-ending one. No peace ever song in opera is ever completed, only perfected through time practice and sincere devotion to the art. I feel unbelievably blessed to know what I am good at and have always known where my path would take me. But more than anything I am so grateful to be in love with expressing myself through my voice 🎵♥️
The process of mastering a piece of music can be both challenging and rewarding, especially for singers. Many artists often face the dilemma of whether to keep pursuing something they love, knowing that perfection takes years to achieve. In opera, pieces like 'Summertime' require not only vocal skill but also an emotional connection that resonates with the audience. Understanding the importance of practice and dedication in the music world can inspire those who are on their own artistic journey. Embracing the journey of growth, rather than rushing to completion, often leads to more profound experiences. The commitment to continual improvement in singing captivates listeners and enables performers to express their artistry fully. As singers navigate this path, they frequently discover new aspects of both the music and themselves, making the effort worthwhile. Ultimately, finding joy in the process is key, transforming a seemingly arduous task into a passionate pursuit that enriches both the artist and their audience.
