Gourmet for the Gerber Crowd
My baby’s appetite has quickly grown. By 4-5 months, her glam-ma has been giving her pieces of our “regular food”. From waffles and grits to mashed potatoes and purées. You name it. So I figured she was ready to eat it by herself. This is also for her to start learning hand-eye coordination. And boy was I right. She plays no games when it comes to food or her milk. I made her this cutesy “baby platter”. This is my baby’s version of fine dining lol. A charcuterie board fit for a baby foodie. #6monthsold #Lemon8Diary
Introducing solid foods to your baby can be an exciting journey. At around 4-6 months, many parents start incorporating finger foods that promote self-feeding, which can significantly aid in developing fine motor skills. A charcuterie board, adapted for babies, can include soft fruits like bananas and blueberries, and lightly toasted sourdough bread as a versatile base. Consider using Gerber products, such as melt-in-the-mouth snacks that are perfect for little hands. Pureed fruits and veggies, like strawberry and spinach blends, can be included to diversify nutrition. A well-prepared charcuterie platter not only introduces new textures and tastes but also encourages your baby to explore food independently. Remember, supervision is key! Look for safe, baby-friendly options while ensuring your child enjoys this culinary adventure. This approach not only enhances their eating experience but also fosters a love for fresh and wholesome foods right from the start.
