African American Culture =Sinner movie

I watched sinners today and it made me do my research about african American culture from all 4 regions from the east west south and north. It's very sick how the United States has hid so much history and cultural contributions from the AA Community. I'm taking about beyond music, American culture is black American culture in many aspects. yes white people have made thier contributions also but the soul of the country is Black and native. Reading about the delta culture in the south, harlem Renaissance, hoodoo southern folk magic, gulla south/north Carolina region, it's so much knowledge that I've obtained. it's so crazy when I hear people say that african Americans don't have culture..I just laugh because I can tell these people are not educated. Black culture needs to be part of the American education curriculum because native/black people are the back bone of America. just like LAtin America. Anyone who's reading this please educated yourselves/pick up a book

... Read moreThe contributions of African American culture extend far beyond music and dance; they're deeply rooted in the very fabric of American history. From the rich storytelling during the Harlem Renaissance to the spiritual practices found in Gullah culture, the legacy of black Americans is woven into the nation’s story. Areas like the Delta in the South boast practices like Hoodoo, reflecting a blend of African traditions and local influences. Education that includes African American history is vital, as it debunks the notion that black culture lacks depth. It is essential to recognize that black and native cultures are integral to the narrative of the United States, similar to Latin American influences. As discussions arise regarding the representation and significance of African American culture, we encourage readers to explore this rich heritage through literature and community engagement. Exploring works from icons like James Baldwin and Zora Neale Hurston can further illuminate the cultural narratives often overlooked in traditional curriculums. By educating ourselves, we can appreciate the manifold contributions that shape what we understand as American identity.

I was born and raised in Jamaica. While in the military I got the opportunity to go home with one of my friends to Mississippi. The culture and expectations were easy to see to I followed. When the women separated I went with them. Everyone executed in a sequence that followed with a community schedule I could tell what to do next…I loved it so much and I’m grateful they loved me too. I am grateful to know better than to think black Americans do not have culture. It’s American too

The Alabaster Jar - Part 1
(When the Wages of Sin Become an Offering of Love) There are moments in the Gospels that feel almost unbearably human. Messy even. Emotional and awkward. The room goes quiet, people shift uncomfortably, and suddenly the holiness of YHWH collides with the brokenness of a human life. The sto

I’m a sinner — that’s exactly why I study God’s Word. I don’t study because I’m righteous. I study because I’m not. I fall short. I mess up. I struggle. But every time I open my Bible, I’m choosing to seek Him again. This isn’t about perfection — it’s about progress. Studying is my way of re
