Tips/Advice?

When planning your garden, consider choosing plants that are suited to your local climate and soil conditions; native plants can often thrive with less maintenance. Additionally, understanding which plants grow well together, known as companion planting, can significantly enhance your garden's productivity. This includes pairing plants that deter pests with those that need protection. For example, planting marigolds alongside vegetables can naturally repel harmful insects. Soil quality is another critical factor to consider. Investing in good-quality soil can set a solid foundation for your plants. Consider conducting a soil test to understand its pH and nutrient levels, allowing you to amend it appropriately before planting. Furthermore, maintain moisture balance—too much or too little water can harm your plants. Implementing a composting strategy not only enriches your soil but also reduces waste, making your gardening practice more sustainable. Lastly, don't hesitate to join community forums or gardening clubs to share experiences and gather fresh tips. Engaging in discussions can spark new ideas and keep your enthusiasm alive when nurturing your garden. Remember, every gardener was once a beginner, so embrace the learning process and enjoy watching your garden thrive!

you can start working on the soil now if you have some space. I would also suggest a garden journal to put notes in, ideas and plant lists. and the big suggestion is start now! why summer next year?
