Scary movie marathon

I know some of these movies are popular so you have probably heard of them or maybe you’ve seen all of the movies already but with halloween being around the corner I wanted to share some scary movies i recommend. I’ve already expressed to you all that scary/horror is not a favorite genre of mine but these moves were pretty good to me. Some of them are more thriller than actual horror because once again i’m not a huge fan of horror but I feel like these were good movie recs for a movie marathon or if you haven’t seen them.

Would you watch any of these movies?

Read moreWhen it comes to planning a scary movie marathon, especially around Halloween, mixing classic horror films with high-quality thrillers is a smart approach — it gives variety and appeals to different comfort levels with fear. From the OCR content, it’s clear that movies like "The Strangers" starring Liv Tyler, "Scream" featuring Drew Barrymore and Skeet Ulrich, and "Hereditary" are part of the recommendations. "The Strangers" is a tense, psychological thriller about a couple terrorized in their remote home, offering a chilling atmosphere with minimal gore, which can be a good entry point for those new to horror. "Scream" is a meta slasher film that combines mystery and horror with sharp dialogue and a memorable cast; it’s a cult favorite that balances scares with humor and suspense. "Hereditary," meanwhile, is a deeply unsettling supernatural horror film known for its intense storytelling and emotional depth, exploring dark family secrets and psychological torment. For those who enjoy a blend of thriller and horror elements, movies from the scream genre and supernatural horror evoke lasting tension without overwhelming gore. Including these titles in a marathon can help maintain a rising sense of dread and excitement throughout the viewing experience. Additionally, planning breaks between movies to discuss the plots or share reactions can enrich the experience and help viewers process intense scenes. For viewers who might be hesitant about pure horror, choosing films leaning more toward thriller suspense can offer a safer middle ground, making the marathon accessible to all friends or family members joining in. In sum, this curated list focusing on thrillers and select horror classics is perfect for anyone preparing a Halloween movie night. It keeps the suspense high and the scares thrilling, all while respecting viewers who aren’t hardcore horror aficionados. Make sure to have some cozy blankets and snacks ready — and prepare for a memorable scare fest this Halloween season!
