If You’re Broke In Your 20s… This Might Be Why
Be honest… which one are you guilty of?#selfimprovement #mindset #growthmindset #20slife #discipline
In my early 20s, I found myself constantly broke despite working various jobs. Reflecting on my situation, I realized it wasn’t just about income but often the mindset traps I fell into. One major issue was prioritizing comfort over growth—sticking to familiar routines and avoiding challenges that could improve my skills or financial situation. For example, I hesitated to take on side hustles or learn new skills because it was outside my comfort zone. Another insight is the danger of waiting for motivation. Motivation can be fleeting, and waiting to feel inspired before taking action often leads to procrastination. I learned that discipline—doing things even when I didn't feel like it—was the real game-changer. Setting small daily financial goals and consistently following through helped me build momentum. Lastly, caring too much about what others think can hold you back from making financial decisions that suit your goals. Whether it was spending to keep up appearances or avoiding conversations about money, I realized that focusing inward and defining my own path was essential. Combining these lessons, I shifted my focus toward growth by learning about budgeting and investing, taking consistent action regardless of my motivation levels, and aligning my financial habits with my personal values rather than others’. If you recognize these patterns in yourself, know that change is possible with self-awareness and discipline. Start small, stay consistent, and prioritize your growth over comfort to break free from being broke in your 20s.
