And my story is still not over

What a year man! I pray that as you step into 2025 that you embrace God our creator and put away the things of the world. It’s hard but I am championing you and so is God. If you have control issues. SAME. If you have trust issues. SAME. If you’re an over thinker. SAME. If you’re too self-reliant for your own good. SAME! SAME SAME SAME!! But if I can trust God and see His true glory and experience His live then so can you. ✝️🩵🥹

Like many of you, I've battled with control issues, trust issues, and the endless loop of overthinking. For so long, I believed I had to be self-reliant, handle everything myself, and that my worth was tied to my job or what others thought of me. My mental health suffered greatly because of this relentless pressure. When things truly fell apart, including a really tough situation at work that left me feeling bullied and abandoned, I realized my way wasn't working. Learning to "give up control" wasn't an overnight revelation; it was a slow, sometimes painful process. For me, it started with simply acknowledging that I couldn't do it all. The first practical step was prayer – not just formal prayers, but honest, raw conversations with God. Crying, screaming, just pouring out my heart knowing He was listening. It felt vulnerable, but also incredibly freeing. This act of "casting my cares on Him" truly began to lighten my load. Building trust when you have deep-seated "trust issues" is another significant hurdle. My experience taught me that trusting God isn't about ignoring past hurts or pretending everything is perfect. It's about recognizing His unchanging nature and His perfect love. For me, this trust grew by "reading my Bible daily." Immersing myself in scripture helped me understand who God really is – not a human, so He's "definitely not a liar." His promises became a solid foundation when everything else felt shaky. This wasn't my parents' faith walk; it became my own, deeply personal journey. Overthinking was a constant companion, especially during my darkest times. I found immense comfort in focusing on specific verses that spoke to my anxieties. Journaling my thoughts and fears, and then pairing them with scripture, helped reframe my perspective. It's like replacing the negative tapes in your head with truth. This simple practice started to bring a quiet peace to my chaotic mind. One of the biggest lessons was learning to "give myself grace." I used to be so hard on myself, constantly striving for perfection. But through my journey, I discovered that God's love is unconditional, and I don't have to work for it or worry about losing it. This understanding profoundly changed how I viewed myself and my struggles. It allowed me to be kinder to myself, just as God is kind to me. Finally, embracing vulnerability, not just with God but with safe people, was crucial. Moving back in with family, though not my first choice, was a blessing that provided support during a time I truly needed it. It's a reminder that while our spiritual walk is personal, we're not meant to do life completely alone. My story is still unfolding, and life still presents challenges, but now I walk with an unshakeable peace and joy, knowing I am fully covered by His grace. If you're feeling overwhelmed, know that taking that first step to lean on faith can truly transform your outlook.
