Spring break 2026 pt.3

OMG, you guys, I'm still buzzing from my Spring Break trip, and not just because of the beach views! While our dinner at The Hangout had a few bumps this year (seriously, where did the exciting shows go?!), the absolute highlight for me was a totally unexpected find that made my collector heart sing: Sonny Angels! These are adorable, tiny 'naked babies' (though they're often wearing super cute animal hats or holding tiny objects) that come in blind boxes. That's right – you never know which one you're going to get, and that's half the fun! Each series has a different theme, like animals, fruits, flowers, and even special holiday editions. They're designed to bring you happiness and are often called 'your little guardian angel.' I've seen them described as 'collectible figures' and that's exactly what they are – little pieces of joy! I first stumbled upon Sonny Angels a while back and was instantly hooked. There's something so exciting about the anticipation of opening a blind box and discovering which little friend you'll add to your display. It's not just about the cute factor; it's also about the community! There are so many fellow collectors out there, sharing their finds and trading duplicates. It's a really wholesome and fun hobby. Finding them can sometimes be a treasure hunt in itself! While online stores are always an option, there's nothing quite like walking into a toy shop and seeing a display of them. That's exactly what happened to my sister and me on our last night in Myrtle Beach. We were just browsing after dinner, and there they were! Along with a small selection of Jellycats – another one of my weaknesses, those super soft plush bunny toys and other adorable critters! It was an absolute dream come true. My current collection isn't huge yet, but it's growing! Before this trip, I had the strawberry, a small bunny holding a flower, the sunshine pouch, and the coffee cup keychain. And now, I've welcomed the most adorable pink bunny Sonny Angel into the family! I instantly named her Strawberry, not just because of her color but also to honor my very first Sonny Angel. She's just too precious! You can imagine my excitement – it was probably more exciting than finding any souvenir! For anyone looking to start their own Sonny Angel collection, my biggest tip is to keep an eye out in local toy stores or specialty gift shops wherever you travel. You never know where you might find them! Sometimes I even check out small boutiques. And when you do find one, take a moment to savor the blind box experience. It's all part of the charm! Displaying them is also super fun – mine sit on a little shelf, bringing a smile to my face every day. Our Spring Break trip was fantastic overall, even with the small hiccup at The Hangout. But honestly, finding that pink bunny Sonny Angel in the toy shop was truly one of the most memorable moments. It just goes to show, sometimes the best parts of a trip are the unexpected little discoveries.
