Winter in Hakodate is pure magic! Visited the "Hakodate Christmas Fantasy" and I'm still in awe.
The highlight is this massive 20-meter Christmas tree floating right on the sea! Every evening at 6: 00 PM, they holda lighting ceremony where fireworks light up the nightsky behind the tree (Swipeto see! 🎆).
The reflection on the water and the crisp winter air make it an unforgettable experience. If you're visiting Hokkaido in December, this is a must-see!

私が行って感じた「函館クリスマスファンタジー」の楽しみ方を、これから行く人向けにメモしておきます。結論、メインは“海に浮かぶ巨大ツリー”と“18:00の点灯式（花火）”なので、ここに合わせて動くと満足度が上がります。 まず到着時間。点灯式の直前は一気に人が増えるので、私は17:30頃に着いて、海沿いの見やすい場所を先に確保しました。夕暮れ→夜へのグラデーションの中でツリーが見えてくる時間帯は、写真も雰囲気もかなり良いです。点灯してからは水面の反射がきれいで、海に浮かぶ感じがより伝わりました。 写真を撮るなら「水面の映り込み」を意識するとそれっぽくなります。少し引きで撮ると、函館湾の暗い海にツリーの光が伸びて見えておすすめ。花火が上がる瞬間はシャッターチャンスが短いので、スマホなら連写や動画にしておくと安心でした。イルミネーションで飾られた小さな家や、ドーム状のオブジェ（青く光るエリア）もあって、ツリー以外のカットも撮れます。 防寒は想像以上に大事でした。海沿いは風が強くて体感温度が下がるので、手袋と耳まで覆える帽子があるとかなり違います。私は指先が冷えると撮影もしづらかったので、スマホ対応手袋が助かりました。 最後に、点灯式が終わった後もすぐ帰らず、少しだけ周辺を歩くのもおすすめ。ツリーの色が変わるタイミングがあったり、見る場所を変えると雰囲気が変わったりして、短時間でも満足感が高いです。12月の函館観光に組み込みやすいイベントなので、「函館 クリスマスファンタジー」を目的に行くなら、18:00を軸にプランを立ててみてください。
