Recovery Reset

Day 4 of my recovery reset 💚

I’m still not feeling like myself. My breathing has been off, so I kept everything very light today.

Just rest, a light massage, and simple foods like soup and a smoothie.

Healing is slower than I want… but I’m listening to my body.

Still showing up 💚

It’s tempting to push through discomfort, but slowing down and engaging in gentle activities such as light massages and nourishing meals like soup and smoothies have made a big difference. I avoid strenuous tasks and focus on hydration and rest, which helps to gently reset my body’s rhythm. One unexpected benefit of keeping my days light is how it reduces stress on my breathing. I’ve noticed that when my activity level is too high, my breathing feels more labored, so balancing movement with plenty of rest feels essential. Soups rich in vegetables and light proteins provide comfort and essential nutrients that support the healing process, while smoothies are a great way to include fruits and hydration easily. Healing often feels slower than I want, and patience is a challenge. But accepting that progress is gradual and trusting my body’s signals helps me maintain a positive mindset. I remain committed to showing up for myself daily because even small steps forward are valuable. Sharing this reset experience reminds me that recovery isn’t linear but embracing the process with compassion and self-care makes all the difference. If you’re on a similar path, consider incorporating light, wholesome meals and gentle massages into your routine, and honor your pace of healing. Balancing rest and nourishment can create a supportive environment for your recovery, especially when facing chronic illness or fluctuating health. Remember, it’s okay to have off days; what matters most is that you keep showing up and listening to your body’s needs.
