I started my fitness journey about a month and a half ago and mannn it’s been a beautiful journey! From redirecting my craves with more healthy options , to challenging my mind to be more discipline ! I’ve struggled with hating my weight gain, hating my body , knee pain , joint pain, lack of energy , lack of confidence, etc! So this has been such a challenge in every way !
Start weight 204.5 -
Current weight - 187.4

I feel amazing ! I have a bit more of way to go but I’m giving myself GRACE ! The biggest thing is loving myself during this entire process regardless of what I weight !

Starting a fitness journey can feel incredibly daunting, can't it? I know for me, the idea of changing my lifestyle felt like climbing Mount Everest. But let me tell you, taking that first step is the hardest part, and it's also the most powerful. If you're thinking about starting your fitness journey, remember it's not about being perfect from day one, but about showing up for yourself consistently. One of the biggest hurdles I faced was my mindset. I had to learn to redirect those relentless cravings from unhealthy snacks to more nourishing options. It wasn't just about what I ate, but about building mental discipline. It's truly a challenge for your mind as much as your body. You'll have days where you feel low on energy, or your old aches like knee pain or joint pain flare up. This is where giving yourself grace becomes paramount. Don't let a bad day derail your entire journey. Just acknowledge it and commit to showing up for yourself again tomorrow. For me, starting my fitness journey meant setting some tangible, yet realistic, goals. It wasn't just about a number on the scale, but about feeling better, having more energy, and building confidence. I found that breaking down my big goal into smaller milestones made it feel achievable. Think about what truly motivates you beyond just weight loss – is it feeling stronger? Being able to play with your kids without getting tired? Having more zest for life? When it comes to the practical side, don't overcomplicate it. Start small. Maybe it's just a 20-minute walk each day, or swapping out one unhealthy meal for a healthier one. You don't need a fancy athletic outfit or a personal trainer to begin. Just find something you enjoy and stick with it. Some days, getting to the gym locker room for a workout felt like a huge win in itself, even if I wasn't doing an intense session. It's about building that habit. And let's talk about body image. I used to struggle so much with hating my body and weight gain. But this journey has taught me that self-love isn't a destination; it's a continuous practice. It's about appreciating your body for what it can do, not just what it looks like. Taking selfies to track my progress, not just on the scale but visually, helped me see the subtle changes and appreciate the effort I was putting in. Remember, this is your journey. There will be ups and downs, plateaus, and moments of doubt. But each time you choose health, each time you push through, you're building a stronger, more resilient you. Keep embracing vulnerability, keep practicing self-love, and most importantly, keep showing up for yourself. You're worth the effort.
