Making the perfect French toast is truly an art—and calling it the "Marry Me French Toast" makes it feel extra special. From personal experience, the soaking step is absolutely crucial. I once rushed this part and ended up with dry, eggy bread that lacked that luscious custard-like texture. Taking the time to let the brioche soak completely allows it to absorb the egg and milk mixture, creating that melt-in-your-mouth softness. Using brioche bread is a game-changer because its slight sweetness and buttery texture perfectly complement the cinnamon and vanilla flavors infused in the custard. When cooking, medium heat is essential; high heat might brown the toast too quickly while leaving the inside undercooked, whereas low heat won't give you that golden crust everyone loves. Butter isn't just for cooking—it infuses the toast with richness that oil can't match. I always add a generous knob of butter to the pan, ensuring each side cooks evenly to a golden brown. Topping the French toast with fresh strawberries and a drizzle of syrup adds freshness and sweetness that balances the buttery toast. One last tip: don’t forget to use real vanilla extract and cinnamon to elevate the flavor. This simple recipe can be made with basic ingredients but tastes like a special occasion meal. Whether you’re impressing a fiancée or just treating yourself, this "Marry Me French Toast" is worth every bite.
