How did their past shape their present? What family secrets might they be carrying? Likes, Dislikes & Hobbies: These small details add so much flavor. What’s their favorite food, color, music? What do they absolutely despise? Do they have any hidden talents or passions? These help create a well-rounded individual that readers can connect with. Relationships: How do they interact with others? Who are their allies, enemies, mentors, or rivals? Understanding their social circle helps define their role in the story. Goals & Conflicts: What does your character want more than anything? What stands in their way? This is the engine of your plot, and a good character building template will always push you to define these clearly. When doing character sheet writing, remember it’s a tool, not a rigid prison. You can always adapt it as your story evolves.
