Update on writing my book

It’s been six months since I started writing this book and not once did I believe I was going to finish it any time soon. Between a full-time job, writers block and a two month break, I found motivation through my peers to keep going. I sat down every night writing a little bit or at least trying.

By the end of the book, I sprinted the last 10,000 words and even added an epilogue. I am shocked and happy with myself for my determination. If you are writing, there is no time frame. You don’t have to rush to the finish line. I didn’t want to end my book, it was bittersweet. Months of hard work that could be something.

I just sent the book to be printed for editing and to have for progress. My goal is to have a print every time I complete a revision to keep a physical copy of my progress. This first print will determine the length I want (right now it’s 384 pages) and how to smooth it out.

Stay turned… The revise and editing process is starting soon 🫣

Many aspiring authors face obstacles such as writer's block, balancing work, and maintaining motivation. Understanding that writing doesn't have a strict timeline can be liberating. It's essential to embrace the journey, celebrate milestones, and continuously seek feedback for improvement. The process of revision is crucial; it enables authors to refine their work, ensuring that the final product resonates with readers. Additionally, creating physical copies during this process helps track progress and visualize the book coming to life. As authors, sharing our experiences can inspire others in the writing community, emphasizing that perseverance is key in navigating the creative landscape. Stay tuned for more updates on my writing process as I begin the next phase of editing and refinement!
