The Scene Aesthetic
My book takes place in Vermont. I love the idea of a smaller city and lower population. The feel that everyone talks behind the scenes. I grew up in a high traffic city and have never known of the “it’s a small world” quote. If you see someone, you’ll never see them again.
Fatalities of Us Against the World will be the book where everyone gossips to everyone. You’ll notice it in the first few chapters as family relations start to unravel themselves to the reader. I have done extensive research into this idea and it’s the best way to make the story come alive. I’m planning a trip hopefully before the end of next year to visit some places I mention in the book. The end of the title is a key into the book. “Against the World” plays on family dynamics across multiple different countries. Alliances being formed and tarnished.
I am hoping that this book does some justice as I want to complete the book in a three-four part series to follow the other men and their day to day life.
