document your worst days, you’ll be glad you did 📸
i’ve been on the skinnier side ever since i was a teenager. i weighed 105lbs. i was told ALL the time that i was too skinny and i needed to eat more blah blah blah. so despite my skinniness, i was INCREDIBLY insecure and hated my body! so i avoided cameras like the plague!
overtime i started to gain a little weight. i was 120lbs and felt my worst. even more insecure than i was. so i started going to the gym. i had no clue what i was doing and had no goals. i hated exercising and looking at myself. but i recorded myself. i don’t know why; i hated looking at myself. but i took pictures and videos of my body every time i went.
2 years later, i gained 30 more pounds. i had hit rock bottom. i was more insecure than ever, which i didn’t even know was possible for me. my physical state of being was sluggish. i was tripping over myself due to not being able to carry my weight. i would look back on photos and cry because i took it for granted.
when i started my weight loss journey, again i hated my body. i would actively avoid mirrors and pictures like they were the devil. but when I started back at the gym, i took photos. and i realized why; one day i want something to look back and and be proud of the work i put in.
today is that day. i looked back at those photos, and man. i did that. that was all me. i weigh the same now that i did back then. except this time i look different. i’m stronger. physically and mentally.
if i hadn’t taken those photos i would have nothing to look back on. i wouldn’t remember how i felt back then, and compare it to how amazing i feel now.
📸 even if you hate how you look, document it. because one day you’ll surpass your goals, look back, and see the amazing progress you’ve made.
