🙋🏻♀️ I think we managed to cut our home reno by half by choosing to replace some built-in carpentry with loose and affordable items. Initially I wanted matching TV console and sideboard from either Castlery, Commune or some scandi company because they looked very aesthetic but they were kind out of our budget (need to save for milk powder money pls 🥲). They will probably cost x4 times more. Our sideboard + TV console was only $660.
✨ I was on the hunt and I just so happen to chance upon the nice looking fluted panels look-alike doors from IKEA. I couldn’t believe my eyes because they look pretty good and cost a fraction of what you can find out there. Plus we can customise the pieces online (BESTÅ series) which is super fun. Apparently the fluted panels are limited edition items. True enough, we had to wait for quite some time in order for all of the panels to be in stock at the same time.
✨ Well the down side of it was that the process of getting the items was nerve wrecking because there’s only a limited number of stocks per size and design. So we made two different purchases and delivery 🤯. But it was still worth it in the end.
✨ Another issue is the fact that we had to build the items ourselves. My husband called a few of his kakis and they spent an afternoon building the items. 😎
