Honestly I’m super new to blogging and keeping up with my daily life. I’m a singer/songwriter and I have a couple of shows over the next few weekends here in Florida…
I will be doing a “try on” haul video soon and hopefully posting tomorrow or the day after because I got some really COOL outfits at PLATO'S CLOSET
I’ll do my best to keep up with this!
Love you all! Stay blessed! Stay tuned!

... Read moreHey Lemon8 fam! So, you're curious about what an 'impromptu photoshoot' actually means, right? I totally get it because before my recent SATURDAY NIGHT LIGHTS IMPROMPTU PHOTO SHOOT OVER THE WEEKEND, I mostly thought of photoshoots as these super planned, elaborate things.
But let me tell you, an impromptu photoshoot is basically the opposite of that! It's all about capturing moments spontaneously, without a ton of planning or professional gear. Think of it as a creative burst where you just see a cool backdrop, feel inspired, or realize you're rocking a really great outfit (like those awesome pieces I snagged from PLATO'S CLOSET!) and decide, "Hey, let's take some pics right now!"
For me, as a singer/songwriter with shows coming up in Jacksonville and Ormond Beach, feeling comfortable and authentic is super important. That's why I've come to love the impromptu style. There's no pressure to be perfect; it's just about capturing real emotions and your true self. It's less about posing and more about living in the moment, and letting someone (or even a tripod!) snap away. The beauty of it is its authenticity – you're capturing life as it happens, unscripted and raw.
Want to try your own impromptu shoot? Here are a few tips I've picked up:
Embrace the Moment: The core of an impromptu shoot is spontaneity. Don't overthink it. If you see a cool wall, a dramatic shadow, or just feel good in your skin, go for it!
Lighting is Your Best Friend: Even without a fancy setup, good lighting can transform your photos. Think natural light, golden hour (that magical time before sunset), or even the glow of SATURDAY NIGHT LIGHTS like I experienced! Streetlights, neon signs, or even a brightly lit window can create amazing effects.
Location Scout (on the fly!): Your everyday surroundings can be incredible backdrops. A local park, a vibrant street art mural, a cozy cafe, or even just a well-lit corner in your home. The world is your studio!
Outfit Ready, Anytime: This is where my PLATO'S CLOSET finds shine! Having a few go-to outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable means you're always ready for a spontaneous snap. You don't need a whole wardrobe, just a few key pieces that reflect your style.
Don't Forget Props (if they fit!): For me, it's often my guitar. For you, it might be a cool book, a coffee cup, or even just your natural surroundings. Props can add personality and context to your photos.
The Right Attitude: Have fun! Experiment with different angles, expressions, and movements. The less you worry about perfection, the more natural and captivating your photos will be. Just be yourself and let your personality shine through.
My recent experience really proved that you don't need a professional team or a huge budget to get amazing shots. It's all about being present, having fun, and letting your creativity lead the way. So next time you're out and about, maybe even after one of my shows, keep an eye out for those impromptu photo opportunities – you might just capture some magic!
