In my future house: Hidden Chest Freezer

Last picture shows a good representation on the structure I’d like. Plenty of room for activities and homeschooling my two kids❤️

Since the countertop is rather large I’d make the lip collapsible it create a seam along the back of the freezer edge, so it cut open and close freely.

A hidden chest freezer that doubles as an island!

With the right plans, it can be design to also sit some barstools!

Choose the Right Freezer: Select a chest freezer that fits the dimensions you need for your kitchen island. Ensure it has a flat top that can be used as a countertop.

Design the Island: Work with a carpenter or a kitchen designer to create a custom island that can house the freezer. Make sure there is proper ventilation for the freezer to operate efficiently.

Countertop Material: Choose a durable countertop material that can handle the cold temperatures from the freezer below. Granite, quartz, or butcher block are good options.

Accessibility: Ensure the design allows easy access to the freezer. You might want to incorporate a lift-up countertop or sliding mechanism.

Electrical Outlet: Make sure there's an accessible power outlet for the freezer. You might need to have an electrician install one if there isn’t one nearby.

Aesthetic Integration: Match the island design with the rest of your kitchen decor to make it look seamless. You can add cabinetry around the freezer to hide it completely when not in use.

Selecting an appropriate countertop material is crucial. Options like granite, quartz, or butcher block not only enhance aesthetic appeal but also withstand the cold temperatures from the freezer. Make sure the design allows for easy accessibility—consider mechanisms such as lift-up tops or sliding panels for quick access. Don’t forget the practical aspects—ensure there’s an electrical outlet nearby for the freezer, possibly requiring an electrician's assistance. Finally, blend the freezer island with your existing kitchen decor by adding cabinetry that can completely conceal the unit when it's not in use, creating a seamless and cohesive look in your home.
