How I built my First PC as a NOOB

Are you looking for a PC but realize how expensive PC prebuilts are?? Well that was how I was too! Prebuilts are a lot more expensive than building it yourself but it can be scary to build it yourself! I would love to help someone out so here are some of my tips and tricks on what helped me get through building it!

The biggest tip i can give is to make sure you are going into building it with the knowledge necessary to build it!! Do not be undereducated going into your build, something could go wrong or maybe something does not fit!

... Read moreWhen I first thought about building my own PC, the sheer number of components and compatibility issues felt overwhelming. I mean, how do you even know if a GIGABYTE GEFORCE RTX graphics card will work with your chosen motherboard? That's where a tool like pcpartpicker.com became my absolute best friend and made the whole process approachable for a complete beginner like me. The pcpartpicker website is an incredible resource because it acts as your personal compatibility guru. The main pcpartpicker system builder interface lets you pick out each component – CPU, motherboard, RAM, storage, GPU, case, power supply, and cooler – one by one. The magic happens instantly: as you add parts to your pcpartpicker part list, the pcpartpicker compatibility checker works in the background. It flags any potential issues, like a CPU not fitting a motherboard socket or RAM being too slow for a specific processor. This pcpartpicker compatibility tool saved me so much potential headache and wasted money. You can literally see a pcpartpicker compatibility checker screenshot of how it highlights problems! Building my pcpartpicker build list was an iterative process. I'd start with a budget, then pick a CPU and a powerful GPU like the GIGABYTE GEFORCE RTX I had my eye on. From there, I'd use the pcpartpicker compatibility filter to narrow down compatible motherboards, ensuring I didn't accidentally pick something that wouldn't fit. The pcpartpicker build list interface is super intuitive, showing you prices from various retailers, helping you find the best deals. It aggregates data, so you don’t have to open a dozen tabs. It truly simplifies creating a comprehensive pcpartpicker part list interface. Another feature I absolutely loved and spent hours browsing was the pcpartpicker completed builds section. This pcpartpicker completed builds gallery is a goldmine for inspiration. You can filter builds by budget, CPU, GPU, or even user rating. Seeing what others have successfully put together, complete with their parts list and sometimes even photos and comments, gave me so much confidence. I looked at several pcpartpicker build list example to understand common component pairings and learn from experienced builders. It helped me visualize what a good balance of components looks like for different price points and performance goals. Of course, pcpartpicker.com handles the parts, but understanding how to physically put them together is another story. Before I even ordered a single component, I spent a lot of time watching YouTube tutorials. Channels like TECHSOURCE and Linus Tech Tips break down the build process step-by-step, making it feel much less intimidating. It's like having an expert friend guiding you through every screw and cable. This visual learning, combined with the detailed planning I did on PCPartPicker, made my first build experience incredibly smooth. If you're on the fence about building your own PC because prebuilts are too expensive, I highly encourage you to give it a try. Tools like PCPartPicker remove so much of the guesswork, especially around pcpartpicker part compatibility. It’s empowering to build something yourself, and with the right resources, it’s totally achievable, even if you, like me, start with absolutely no prior experience. You'll not only save money but also gain a deeper understanding of your machine.
